Treasure Hunting in Cherbourg

One of my favourite things about travelling is the unexpected treasures you stumble across along the way.

Recently, I took a cruise to Cherbourg with a lovely group of girlfriends. Waking up on the second day and stepping ashore in Cherbourg, I loved wandering around the town and discovering little gems tucked away in the side streets.

We came across the most adorable antiques and vintage shop called Sweet Cabana. Every corner was filled with beautiful finds, vintage glassware, unique homeware, and treasures I immediately wanted to give a new home to!

Anyone who knows me knows I have a bit of a weakness for pretty glasses. There’s something about vintage glassware that makes even the simplest drink feel special.

I bought a set of six dainty glasses to bring home. At the time, I thought I was being sensible by buying just the one set. Looking back now, I wish I’d bought the entire collection, as they came in three different sizes. Isn’t that always the way with vintage finds? Once you’ve left them behind, you can’t stop thinking about them.

Back home, I couldn’t wait to put my new purchase to use. I mixed up a refreshing apple and strawberry mocktail, poured it into one of the glasses, and finished it with an edible flower for a little extra charm.

Every time I use these glasses, I’ll remember wandering through the streets of Cherbourg, laughing with friends, and discovering a little treasure that made its way home with me.

I may just need to book another trip to see if the other twelve glasses are still waiting for me in the shop!
